ASC Toastmasters Club

The Toastmasters ASC club allows residents of the Montérégie to develop the confidence to speak in public and to assert their leadership qualities. ASC Toastmasters Club offers a supportive learning environment. Members positively encouraged to allow everyone to improve his communication and leadership skills, which develops self-confidence and personal growth. Each member advance at their own pace

Stéphane Gendron

President

The club president opens and chairs each committee meeting of management. Focus is on the quality of the club and member experience. Works collaboratively with all club leaders to achieve the achievement of the Outstanding Club Program by encouraging educational achievements, implementing and managing recruitment, attending club leadership training sessions and transmitting membership dues payments, officer lists and other documents in a timely manner.

Yvan Soucy

VP of Education

The vice-president of education plans member speeches and monitors the completion of projects. The go-to person for questions regarding the club’s Pathways education program, speech competitions, and mentoring program. An important source of Toastmasters knowledge for club members. Responsible with for familiarizing themself with all aspects of the Toastmasters education program. Supervises the creation of the club program at least three weeks in advance. Ensures that all meeting roles are adequately filled. Posts, emails or distributes the meeting agenda regularly so that all members know what to expect and can agree to it as needed.

André Lavallière

VP of Membership

Promotes the club and manages the process of bringing in guests and converting them into members. Gets to know guests, making them feel comfortable, and providing them with the information they need to fit in. Promotes membership. maintaining a constant flow of new people into the club. Carefully monitors recruitment levels and strategizes with the rest of the executive committee to overcome membership challenges as they arise. Leads the club’s efforts to continually increase membership. Aims to gain one new member per month, and if the club has fewer than twenty members, to reach twenty members by the end of the year.

Christopher Villaflor

VP of Public Relations

Promotes the club to the local community and informs the media of the existence of the club and the benefits it brings. Promotes the club by updating web content and preserves the Toastmasters brand identity. Responsible for notifying the media when the club achieves a significant event. Writes press releases, creates and distributes brochures, and maintains the club’s presence at various key places on the web and within the community.

Louise Provencher

Secretary

The Secretary manages club files, club correspondence and takes the minutes at each club management committee meeting. Responsible for updating and distributing a list of currently paid memberships and keeping the list of club officers current with Toastmasters International.

Lyne Richard

Sergeant At Arms

The Sargent at Arms tracks and takes care of the physical assets of the club, such as the banner, lectern, timing device and other meeting equipment. Arrives early to prepare the meeting location for members and stays to put away all the club equipment. In charge of the meeting location itself, obtaining new space as needed and maintaining contact with the people who let the club use the space for meetings. Leaves the meeting space as it was before the meeting.
